WALLSEND residents will be without a Greater Building Society until the end of June after the Nelson Street branch was damaged by water.Greater chief executive officer Don Magin said the branch was closed because water had entered the premises after recent rain and "caused an unpleasant odour".Mr Magin said the building was still structurally sound. He said the automatic teller machine in Nelson Street would remain operational until a new branch was completed in the Stockland Shopping Centre.Mr Magin said the Greater had branches at the shopping centre at Elermore Vale and Stockland Jesmond."The Greater will not compromise on ensuring its staff and customers a safe and pleasant environment," Mr Magin said."We've also got branches at the shopping centre at Elermore Vale and Stockland Jesmond and we apologise for the short-term inconvenience."Neil Goffet
